TLM 49 Microphone by Neumann

The TLM 49 combines the legendary sound excellence of Neumann's classic microphones U 47 and M 49 with modern convenience and high reliability. Inspired by its iconic predecessor, the Neumann M 49, this microphone shares the same large open acoustic design and capacitor construction as its renowned predecessor. The TLM 49 intentionally produces a soft saturation at higher acoustic pressure levels, resulting in an apparent maximum SPL of 110 dB for 0.5% THD, which gradually increases to 129 dB SPL. It captures the sonic behavior and dynamic characteristics of its legendary ancestors without the drawbacks of external power supplies or tube replacements.
