(no ratings yet)

Paying homage to one of the most iconic heavy metal guitars of all time! Fans worldwide know the 1979 Gibson Flying V as Kirk Hammett's signature axe. It was his first Gibson and he fell in love with the brand because of famous Flying V players he admired and his quest for a bigger sound. The original guitar still belongs to Kirk and has been used on every Metallica album from Kill 'Em All, Ride the Lightning, Master of Puppets, ...And Justice for All, to The Black Album, cementing its status as one of the most important heavy metal guitars ever. Today, Epiphone partners with Gibson Custom Shop to deliver the Epiphone Kirk Hammett 1979 Flying V - a meticulous recreation of the original. Featuring an acajou body, one-piece acajou neck, Grover® Rotomatic® tuning machines with spade buttons, and a custom bridge. It's equipped with high-quality electronics, including Gibson USA Calibrated T-Type humbucker™ pickups, CTS® potentiometers, and a Switchcraft® 3-way toggle switch.
