Hoya Filtre HD MkII IRND8 (0.9) 58mm Neutral Density Filter
The HOYA HD MkII IRND8 (0.9) is a neutral density filter that reduces light to the equivalent of 3 stops. Featuring ACCU-ND IR-cut technology, water and oil repellent coatings, and a low profile frame. Density 0.9, divides incoming light by 8 (3 stops). Neutral density (ND) filters are the most requested and essential type of photographic filter for several reasons. For photographers, ND filters offer precise control over the amount of light passing through the lens for better creative exposure control. For video creators, ND filters greatly assist in setting shutter speeds to match frame rates while maintaining depth of field. To create a beautiful blurred background, the HD Mk II IRND8 is the perfect density for creating a beautiful blurred background in typical portrait or daylight conditions easily achieved with fast fixed-focus lenses like F1.2 or F1.4 at maximum aperture, but requires a high shutter speed. Since some cameras are equipped with a maximum shutter speed of 1/4000 sec. that would cause overexposure with such fast lenses, the photographer can still achieve proper exposure by controlling the shutter speed using the HD Mk II IRND8.
